Nehemiah Ch. 8-13
In this final message from our series in Nehemiah, Pastor Kevin covers chapters 8-13, which serve as a conclusion to the entire Ezra-Nehemiah story. In this message, you will hear a recap of everything we’ve covered so far, as well as the main things that we can take away from the entire story of Nehemiah.
Nehemiah Ch. 7
This week we get to hear from our Associate Pastor Justin Romaine as we continue in the book of Nehemiah. Justin teaches on ch. 7 in which we see Nehemiah getting right back to work after the wall is completed. There are still 3 things the city is missing: leadership, structure, and people. Nehemiah works on fixing these 3 issues. In this message, Justin draws parallels to the types of leaders, structures, and people we need in order for our church and families to live in obedience to God.
Nehemiah Ch. 6
In chapter 6 of Nehemiah, we learn about what it means to persevere. Despite being nearly finished with the wall, the enemy did not cease to attack Nehemiah. However, Nehemiah chose to trust God instead of engaging with those who were trying to discredit him. In this message, we learn how to persevere and trust God despite what our enemies may do.
Nehemiah Ch. 5
In chapter 5 of Nehemiah, Nehemiah encounters conflict from within. Despite great progress on the wall, the people’s hearts are not right. Much like the surrounding nations, the Jews begin taking advantage of one another, taxing the poor and putting people in slavery. Nehemiah steps up to confront the issues and make the people promise to treat each other justly. In this message, we see an example about how to handle conflict and love sacrificially.
Nehemiah Ch. 3-4
In this message, Pastor Kevin covers chapters 3-4 of Nehemiah. In this part of the story, we see that Nehemiah is starting to work on the wall. God brings together people to help, and they begin rebuilding. However, opposition quickly arises. Nehemiah, after continuing to pray and seek God, devises a plan to defend themselves against the enemy, even while completing the work. This story teaches us a lot about defending ourselves against spiritual warfare, all while staying committed to the mission we are called to by God.
Nehemiah Ch. 2
In chapter 2 of Nehemiah, we see that Nehemiah’s prayers are answered, after fasting and praying for months. In this message, Pastor Kevin shows us the importance of patience and waiting on God. He also explains the importance of hearing from God to clarify the vision he’s called you to do, share that vision with others, and learn to face opposition along the way.
Nehemiah Ch. 1

We are kicking off a new series, going chapter by chapter through the Old Testament book of Nehemiah. This week we cover chapter 1, in which we see Nehemiah’s burden and prayer. Nehemiah is grieved because of the state of the capital city in Judah. Therefore he fasts and prays, calling on God to keep his promises to His people. In this message, we learn the importance of prayer and fasting, and learn from Nehemiah’s example on how to pray.
