Core Beliefs

God - Is the Ruler and Creator of the Universe. He always has been and always will be. He has eternally existed as the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. These are equal and one God. (Genesis 1:1, 26, 27 Genesis 3:22; Deuteronomy 6:4; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19;  Colossians 1:15-17;  2 Corinthians 13:14)

Jesus - Is the Son of God. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. Jesus Christ is fully man and fully God. He rose physically from the dead to show His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as King. (John 1:1-5; Matthew 1:18-25; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 4:14-15; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; Colossians 2:9-10; 1 Timothy 6:14-15)

Holy Spirit - Lives in followers of Christ from salvation. The Holy Spirit is present in this world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. As Christ followers we seek to live under his control daily. The Holy Spirit gives Christ followers power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every follower spiritual gifts when they are saved. (Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, John 14:16-17; Galatians 5:25; 1 Corinthians 2:12, Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 1:13)

Bible - Is God's word to us. The Bible was written by human authors supernaturally guided by the Holy Spirit. It is without error in the original manuscripts and is fully trustworthy. The bible applies to every area of our lives and is the authority in all matters in which it speaks. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Psalms 119:105, Psalms 160, Psalms 12:6; Isaiah 55:11)

People - Are made in the image of God, but each one has fallen short of Gods perfect standard. Because of our sin we are separated from God and are all in need of salvation. (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 53:6; Isaiah 59:1-2; Psalms139:13-16; Colossians 2:13-15)

Salvation - Is a free gift to us from God, but we must accept it. We could never make up for our sin through our good works. Salvation is not earned and we do not deserve it. It is offered by God in grace and we receive it by faith in Jesus Christ alone. It is only when we surrender our lives and turn to Jesus that we are saved. We are then made right with God and given eternal life. (Romans 6:23; Romans 8:28; Romans 5:1; Romans 10:9-10; Galatians 3:26; Titus 3:5; John 14:6; john 1:12; John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9)

Eternity - People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation or exist eternally separated from God by our sin. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. To be eternally separated from Christ is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in Heaven. (John 3:16; John 14:17; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; Philippians 2:5-11; Matthew 25:31-34, Matthew 25:41)
