Beauty in the Mess

The shepherds and the wise men are an important part to the telling of the Christmas story, because they remind us of the people came to save. Jesus did not only come for certain types of people. He came for both the lowly outcast and the affluent. Jesus came for everyone. In this message, we see that despite the mess, there was beauty in people of all backgrounds coming together to worship Jesus. Like Mary & Joseph, we are challenged to show hospitality to others as they search to know Jesus.

No Room for Jesus

In this message, we look at the response given to Mary & Joseph whenever they arrive in Bethlehem. There was no room for Jesus at the inn. Often we can do the same thing, becoming so busy that there is no room for Jesus in our lives. Yet this story also reminds us that God had a perfect plan, bringing His son into the world as a humble king, exactly the way it was foretold generations earlier.

An Unexpected Journey

When we reflect on the birth of Jesus, we see that the first Christmas was a mess. In this message, we hear about Mary’s unexpected pregnancy, and the unexpected journey she had to take with Joseph to Bethlehem. Both of these things would have been very difficult to understand and undergo, yet God was working his ultimate plan through these unexpected things. This message reminds that God meets us in our mess and works through the unexpected and difficult circumstances we face.
